“To Plant a Garden is to Believe in Tomorrow”

The quote is a lovely statement of hope from Audrey Hepburn.

We try something new almost every day. We start over often. We learn from what works, we learn from what doesn’t work. Over the last few years this was a very successful approach. This year…
we have experienced an increased number of setbacks:

  • Colder weather and extended rainy periods demolished what feels like most (but isn’t quite accurate) of our seeds/seedlings and allowed for weeds to be EXTREMELY successful.

  • Personal and professional changes limited our time to battle the weeds.

  • We have deer! Part of us is thrilled to see that our ecosystem is healthy enough to draw deer (which it did not last year), the other part is devastated by how they demolished the majority of our vegetable plants.

We believe in tomorrow.

We are catching up on the weeding and have been delighted by the flowers and vegetables that have thrived despite battling weeds for resources. We are re-planting flowers and vegetables, both to feed our family and to better prepare to try production again next year.

Please stay tuned! We will continue to share our journey and dream of meeting you at farmers markets and our farm stand.
